Bible House Lane runs off Bunda Street adjacent to the Griffin Centre in the heart of Canberra City. The laneway is not only the service and delivery access for several restaurants and cafes in Garema Place, but it is also the access to car parking for 2 buildings, the pickup area for bulk waste bins which are collected daily and is a popular thoroughfare for pedestrians accessing Garema Place.
RAM were engaged by the client to Project Manage the construction of stage 1 of a 650 lot subdivision.
The stage 1 works consisted of roads and services for 50 residential blocks and the construction of the main stormwater retention pond and parkland at the centre of the development.
The works included the construction of a new asphalt carpark and associated lighting, storm water etc., at the rear of the shops; the total demolition of the front carpark: new storm water, electrical reticulation and lighting; new off form concrete stairs, pedestrian footpaths and paving; demolition of the existing toilet block and construction of a new architecturally designed toilet block; a laneway canopy structure; artwork installation and soft landscaping.
