The project presented several design and approval challenges, including a steep slope, irregular block geometry, existing easements, and concerns from the local community.

Careful on-site management was required to address level access, install retaining walls, and preserve established trees within the development footprint.

Each of the four dwellings is uniquely designed to suit the angles of the site, while maintaining a consistent program:two bedrooms, an extra-wide accessible garage, and a covered outdoor living space.

Northern glazing has been maximised across all units to promote thermal comfort and natural daylight, with energy efficiency supported by all-electric appliances including split system air conditioning and heat pump hot water systems.

Constructed to meet the Public Housing Design Brief, the homes accommodate people of all abilities and are designed to be easily modified over time, eliminating the need for costly retrofitting.

RAM exceeded the minimum 6-star energy rating requirement, delivering a 6.8-star outcome that ensures long-term cost efficiency for tenants and improved environmental performance.
