The RAM team helped contribute to bringing the immersive ‘Ouroboros’ sculpture to life at the National Gallery of Australia. This project included delivering high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design to enhance the surrounding public space.

The project involved the meticulous installation of large-format granite pavements, laid with intricate detail and exacting tolerances to seamlessly complement the new sculpture and water feature.

Custom elements played a significant role in the project, including the design and construction of bespoke in-situ concrete seating with integrated lighting and seating details. Additionally, fabricated powder-coated steel and recycled timber bench seats were installed to provide both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The team collaborated closely with the artist, assisting in the selection and sourcing of large boulders that were carefully cut and repurposed as custom landscape feature seating elements.

Beyond structural enhancements, the project included the installation of feature lighting within seating and landscape zones, enhancing the overall ambiance and usability of the space. To further elevate the area, additional soft landscaping zones with native plantings were incorporated, ensuring a natural and sustainable aesthetic.
